Good Conditions for Recent Golf Day

Thirteen players turned up at West Berkshire Golf Club on the 6th October for the second Society day of the year. The turn out was lower than usual due to a number of golfers dropping out with bad backs. The weather was fine with no wind, ideal for golf. The scores reflected the conditions, 7 players scoring 34 points or above. At lunch Patrick Hedgeland joined us, and presented the prizes, afterwards.

The overall winner was a newcomer to the group, Graham Falconer who scored an amazing 40 points; his handicap will have to be adjusted! Prizes also went to Dave Small for nearest the pin and Ben Briggs for the longest drive. Special prizes were awarded to Peter Sharp and Barry Wall.

Our thanks go to James Hirst, a member of the Club and Ian Briggs for promoting our golf days.

The next Society day will be in April 2009.
