A Great Hog Roast - in Excellent Weather!

106 members and guests spent a great afternoon in Erica Harman's beautiful garden blessed by excellent weather. The Thames Valley Meat Company provided a hog that was both very good and large! The food committee did us proud with all the other dishes, puddings, cheese and canapés. Our constructors worked long and hard to provide protection from the sun.

My thanks go to all the helpers, namely:
Andrew Baldwin, Ian and Elizabeth Briggs, Pam and Tony Brown and 3 grandchildren, Christy Brown, John Clarke, Beverly Clifton, Mitchell Gumbley, Ann and Mike Harwood and friend John, Sue Hedgeland, David Small, Ron Snipp, Sheila Spikins, John Stinson and grand daughter and friend, Barry and Delia Wall, Jill and Mike Williams. It was a terrific effort by so many. My apologies if I have missed anyone!

£356 was raised via the Raffle and this was donated to the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance as agreed at the last AGM.

Sadly we also said goodbye to our Rector Tim Horsington and his wife Liz who have served the Village so well for 25 years with a small gift.

Any suggestions for next year's event are welcome.

Patrick Hedgeland
