The Christmas Charity Walk 2010

start of walk

The organisers - Los Jubilados together with the Highclere Society - were delighted with the response to this year's walk from the Red House on the 27th December. This year the number was approx 200 walkers from Highclere, Woolton Hill and surrounding villages, down on last year but still a great turnout.

Simon of the Red House provided coffee and bacon butties, at the start of the walk. This year the walk headed out to East End via Hollington House. Thanks go to Brunsden Estate Agents for the use of their car park, where mulled wine and mince pies were waiting courtesy of Los Jubilados. The return trip to the Red House went via Alma Farm.

At the Red House, many walkers enjoyed lunch of beef casserole or chicken curry, and our thanks go to Simon and his staff for coping so well.

This year's charity was Naomi House Children's Hospice and a sum of approx £650 was donated for which the organisers thank all the participants.
